This policy explains what information Eldvern (“the app”, “we”) collects, why, and what choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum the app needs to work, and we do not sell your personal data.
Eldvern is an independent project. For any privacy question or request, contact us at eldvern.support@proton.me. This address is the point of contact for the data controller responsible for the processing described here.
Your practice data — what you chose to practice, your reason for it, your day count, streak, and completion history — is stored locally on your device using your browser’s storage. It stays on your device and is not sent to us unless a specific feature below requires it. Clearing your browser data, or uninstalling the app, removes it.
When the app generates an encouraging message, it sends the text you entered for your practice and your reason to our server, which forwards it to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce the message. This text is used only to generate your message and is not stored by us for this purpose. We recommend not entering sensitive personal information in these free-text fields.
Reminders are off by default. If you turn them on, we ask your browser for notification permission and store, on our server (Supabase), the information needed to send you reminders:
You can turn reminders off at any time from within the app, which stops future reminders and unsubscribes your device. To have the stored reminder data deleted, contact us at the address above.
The app may display advertising to support its development. When advertising is active, the ad provider may collect information such as device and usage identifiers and interaction data through its own technologies, in accordance with its own privacy policy. Where required, you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. This section will be updated with the specific provider’s details when advertising goes live.
Vercel — hosts the app and our request proxy.
Supabase — stores reminder subscriptions (only if you enable reminders).
Anthropic — generates the inspirational messages from the text you provide.
These providers process data on our behalf and may store it on servers located outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area, under appropriate safeguards.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process data on these bases: providing the core app and generating messages you request (performance of a service you asked for); sending reminders and showing personalised ads (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time); and keeping the service secure and working (our legitimate interests).
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to data portability. Much of your data lives only on your device and is under your direct control. For anything stored on our server, contact eldvern.support@proton.me and we will respond within the timeframes required by law. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Eldvern is not directed to children under the age required for consent in their country, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
On-device data remains until you clear it. Reminder data on our server is kept while reminders are enabled and removed when you disable them or request deletion.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will notify you in the app.
